Hey there, champs! We're going to chat about something serious – bullying. It's when someone keeps being mean to someone else on purpose. It can make you feel like a soda bottle that's been shaken up – full of yucky feelings. But just like superheroes who face big challenges, you can stand up to bullying. Let’s learn how!
If You're Being Bullied...
Imagine you're playing a game of tag, and there's a rule that you can't tag someone wearing a blue shirt. But someone decides to ignore that rule and keeps tagging you, just because you're wearing blue. That's not fair, right? That's how bullying feels.
What to Do:
Be Like a Starfish: When a starfish gets scared, it doesn't run; it stays strong. So when someone bullies you, stand tall, stay calm, and in a firm voice, say something like, "Please stop, I don't like what you're doing."
Find Your Team: Talk to someone you trust, like a teacher, parent, or coach. They're like your team who can help you figure out the next steps and make the bullying stop.
Be a Reporter: Telling isn’t tattling. It's being brave and making sure you and everyone else is safe. Reporting is what heroes do to keep peace in their world.
Use Your Shield: Keep away from bullies when you can. If you know they'll be at the bike rack, maybe go out another door. It's not running away; it's being smart!
Remember Your Superpowers: Your superpowers are the things that make you special and awesome. Maybe you're great at drawing, soccer, or making people laugh. Bullies can't take that away from you!
If You See Someone Being Bullied...
Imagine you're a knight, and you see a dragon being mean to someone. Would you walk away? No way! You’d try to help. That's being an upstander, not a bystander.
How to Help:
Join Forces: Go stand with the person being bullied. There's power in numbers!
Send a Signal: If you don't feel safe stepping in, that's okay. Find an adult quickly – they're like the city guards who can handle dragons.
Lend Your Cloak: After it happens, tell the person who was bullied, "That wasn't cool. Want to hang out?" Just being there can make them feel tons better.
Be a Storyteller: Share what happened with an adult. They need to know so they can help stop the bullying.
If Someone Threatens You...
That's like a villain saying they'll zap you with a freeze ray if you tell the superhero about their evil plan. It can be scary, but remember, superheroes are brave.
What to Do:
Gather Your Courage: It's okay to be scared, but telling an adult about a threat is important. They can help make sure the freeze ray never gets used.
Create a Safety Circle: This is your group of friends, family, and teachers who can protect you, just like a force field.
Keep Evidence: If the bully sends you mean texts or something, save them. They're like the clues that can help the adults stop the villain.
Remember, You're Not Alone!
Bullying is like a dark cloud on a sunny day. But when you stand up, tell someone, and remember how awesome you are, you're pushing that cloud away. You're making the sun shine brighter for you and everyone else.
So, if you or someone else is being bullied, be bold, be brave, and speak up. You've got this, because you're a hero in your own epic story, and every hero has the power to make a difference!
